Old school is sometimes a PITA

I love my grandparents and now my children's great-grandparents. I just needed to preface this post with that statement.

It seems that technology has made me extremely lazy. I find it a pain in the ass to download my pictures to Wolf Camera's website, order my prints, pay for them, drive all the way there, pick them up, place them in an envelope, put stamps on it, and mail it to my children's great grandparents. I do it because I know they love seeing pictures of the kiddos.
It is SO much easier to download the pictures directly off my camera, quickly drag and drop the ones I want either into an email or shutterfly and then shoot them off to my parents, in-laws, cousins, friends etc. etc. Or, I just send them an email telling them to check my blog, if they are not already followers of it.

I know old school has it's charm. The days of letter writing are almost gone. There is an art to it that I know I'm slowly losing. While addressing envelopes to send out Halloween cards to all the family people, I realized I had a hard time writing. My letters were squiggly, my hand ached, and then it dawned on me why. I do NOT write anymore! With the exception of a short grocery list, everything I do is either typed out on the computer or into my phone. I had to search for a pen to address the envelopes for 10 minutes!

I feel as if this is a great tragedy and something has gone very wrong. But it hasn't. It's just a sign of the times. The time will come when I don't have to worry about mailing things to my grandparents because they won't be here anymore. So in a sense, I'm telling myself to shut the hell up and just print/mail the pictures. But, on the other hand, it would be nice if they would get an email account.
